1. Great phone Review by Gus

Fresh out the box I will admit it froze, and gave me a msg saying "oops system error restarting" but other then that one day that's the only time iv experience any kind of problem with it. It's a good phone and functions properly if taken care of as in deleting stuff (texts, recent calls, internet history) its not a smartphone and is not ment. To be multitasking and very important to have a memory card the more stuff you have saved on the phone the slower it will be. I bought this phone and couldn't be happier. (Posted on 8/19/2012)

  2. Great phone for non-techies Review by D. Betournay "Dave"

I had this phone for several weeks and was very excited at the concept. This phone is not an Android phone, though it uses an OS called Brew MP. Brew MP in itself has the capability to install all sorts of apps and such, similarly to systems like Apple's iOS or Android... However, on a limited basis. Unfortunately, the implementation on this phone does not see this perspective on things... Availability of any apps is at the carrier's descretion - and all are PAY apps. The phone is listed as having quite a few pre-installed apps - which would add functionality - though each one is FEE based, ie: pay $5 more a month for this one or that one.. Additionally, they CANNOT be UNINSTALLED. So you are stuck with a phone littered with trash-apps. With the correct implementation of Brew MP, this would act very much like a smartphone. With the current implementation, it is no more than a standard dumb-phone in any way shape or form. This is quite unfortunate since the phone's hardware itself is comparable to many of the basic, entry level Android phones from a "couple" years back. So it's like you are getting the basic smartphone hardware, but the software is incredibly limiting.

Otherwise, the phone itself is quite nice. It is a great unit. I did not have any of the negative issues that others mention, so it may be possible that they were corrected. The phone is very simple to use, and a great phone if you do not require "advanced" functionality. Though in the end, I was unable to keep this phone.

I am a software developer and assumed that since it was a Brew MP phone that you could simply install/create applications whenever you like. Unfortunately, as mentioned before - you cannot do this. You have no control over software. So the once cool idea of creating apps on the Brew MP system fizzled due to restrictions... and thus, so did the romance. Great phone though otherwise. (Posted on 6/10/2011)

  3. Great phone Review by DScales

I love the phone! Easy to navigate and set up. Calls are clear and has plenty of volume to hear even in strong wind. While I am not generally a data user it has unlimited data for $15 a month that I can turn on and off as I like...NO 2 year data commitment. I would be nice to have a Amazon or Barns and Noble e-reader app, but it a new style phone maybe one will come out. Phone has a good weight to it and isn't flimsy like a lot of the phone I looked at. So far I am very happy with my Freestyle. HTC Freestyle Phone (AT&T) (Posted on 5/2/2011)

  4. A Great Addition to AT&T Review by VS2929

This phone is one of the best touch screens i have seen so far besides the iphone. I tried it out in the AT&T store and this thing was my number one upgrade choice. This phone comes with your basics and more a nice full web browser, nice menus, nice operating system, great battery life and it includes yellow pages mobile, AT&T navigator, and much more. The best part it doesn't need a data plan its optional. The big point is if you want an amazing new phone or phone to upgrade to but don't want to pay the hefty data plan this would be your phone. Also 3G with speeds up to 7.6 Mbps.

Update 3/1/12: There has been a few issues with this phone when I did my last review but HTC did release an update Recently That fixed most of them. So I sill do recommend this device as an alternative to a smartphone with an AT&T data plan. My advice though Do update the phone and for those of you still complaining about the device having bugs you haven't updated yet so go ahead and do it and your phone will be so much better. 5. good phone Review by jpete

This is my first touch-screen phone and I really like it. I had to return the one I got first because it had a couple of issues but this new one seems to work perfectly. The only things I don't really like are that you can't edit pictures after you take them and there isn't a notepad app. Overall, this is a good choice for someone like me who wants a nice phone without the nice-phone price. 6. Love this phone and no data plan required! Review by kirteen

I have been wanting a quality touch screen phone for a while but could not find one I liked that was not a smartphone. This one fits the bill. In 3 days I have already personalized it and more. The call quality is great and quite loud. The ringer volume is quite loud also. The vibration is strong. The phone feels like a quality phone in your hand. My husband likes my phone so much he is considering one for himself. (Posted on 2/23/2011)
