  1. Worst purchase ever Review by unhappy

I bought this car for my 5 year old son for Christmas. I wanted something that could run in the back yard without getting caught up in grass. My son and husband were both eager to try it out in water. Unfortunately, due to it's ridiculously short range - 5 feet max! - and no more than ten minute battery life, we haven't yet had the chance to test that claim. Silly me thought we simply got a bad egg, so I sent in for a replacement not once, but twice. Before our second replacement, Amazon conducted an investigation and found nothing wrong. We received our third vehicle that had the exact same issues as the first two. Inside or out, my son has to almost walk on top of it to stay in range, and the battery consistently dies before he can even warm up to it! I don't even bother keeping it charged anymore, because he doesn't like to play with it. When it does run, it works great it the grass, which is the ONLY positive thing I can say about it. Love the look of it, and it would have been awesome if it did what it claimed to do. What a waste of money. (Posted on 4/1/2012)

  2. Paid for new price but got a used one Review by keye

this was a great deal when I placed the order but received a used one from amazon. I can clearly see scratches and dirt all over the toy. I been a loyal customer for 5 years and couldn't believe what I got then. Anyway I didn't get a chance to play it because it was too dirty, returned it next day after unboxing. (Posted on 3/22/2012)

  3. Waterproof, How? Review by B. Lacy

It is really cool looking, fast ,the lights actually work, and it does well outside. BUT, I used it in my pool and water seeped into the circutry and ...........IT STOPPED WORKING! It may say it can go in water, but really DON'T! We used about 5 TIMES in the water! That's it! And THIS happened! DON'T PUT IT IN THE WATER! SERIOUSLY! (Posted on 2/11/2012)

  4. Not working out of the box Review by Jason

The one star rating comes from the fact that my son and I have not been able to play with the car yet. I may update this review once a new car arrives, but for now, right out of the box, the vehicle does nothing. Battery is fully charged or at least I think it is; there is no indication on the charger that it is actually charging other than it gets warm. So, you have to charge the battery, per the instructions, for 5.5 hrs before first use. Not a big deal because that is typical of these types of electrical systems, however, when we plugged the battery in to the car for the first time after initial charge, the vehicle's lights came on but no movement whatsoever when the control levers were operated. Hopefully this one is a fluke and the next one will not have the same issues. One interesting thing to note is that these vehicles are no longer on the kid galaxy website, I will be asking why when I talk to customer service today to get a replacement vehicle. 5. WARNING: NOT FIT FOR WATER Review by Richard G. Vincent II

This is a fun little toy for land use only! I do not recommend for water use. I bought this for my son for Christmas and within three days of mixed land and water use the unit started acting erratically and ultimately just quit working. I sent it back for a replacement. Again, within days the unit lost power in one of its two motors and only works intermittently. This time I returned the unit for a refund. When it comes to water, this product is not ready for prime-time. Until Morphibians find a way to make this toy truly amphibious, I strongly suggest spending your money elsewhere. 6. Best RC Toy out there Review by T.M.S

My 5 year old son asked Santa for a remote control truck but not any truck he wanted 1 that he can take outside and play with in the mud. So after weeks of researching different r/c viechles I came across the Komodo Dragon by Kid Galaxy. This went above his requirements not only can it go through mud but it can also go through snow. I charged it the night before so it would be ready on Christmas morning. He was so excited he played with it all day (on and off due to visiting with relatives). It works great inside the house goes super fast and does 360* turns on hard kitchen floors. Still goes fast on carpet but really slows down in the spins. The Komodo Dragon also goes fast in snow about 2 in deep however it easily gets stuck in small holes. After reading other reviews I debated on getting a 2nd battery, but decided to wait. To my surprise the Komodo Dragon runs about 1 1/2 to 2 hrs on a full charge. Thats more than enough time for a 5 year old. The remote takes 1 9v square battery (not included) if the remote gets left on for any amount of time not in use the battery dies quickly. Overall its a great easy to use remote control for anyone. My husband and my 5 year old argue on who gets to use it. Great value for the price and it comes with a rechargable battery pack. (Posted on 1/8/2012)

  7. Constantly stops Review by Joe

Fun toy but after running about 5 minutes it constantly stops responding. I have to turn the system off and turn it back on to get it to respond. It is fun to drive and my 4 year old son has a great time with it but he is constantly having to turn it off and back on to get it to work. (Posted on 1/3/2012)

  8. Sad! Review by GMA

I purchased 5 of these for my grandchildren so they could race on our pond behind our house. They could not race because all of them worked on the same remote! So now I have 5 Komodo Dragons that have to be used 1 at a time. Also the battery is very hard to install. (Posted on 1/2/2012)

  9. Waste of Money Review by Mark Fabish

This car has a working range of about 12 feet max. Anything past that and it will not reverse, which means it cannot turn either (given the controls for turning). Really past 8 feet the car starts to lurch even going forward, on a fully charged battery. A full charge lasts about 20 minutes. Others have complained about the battery compartment, its not that bad but I did have to find a consistent system to get the batterry in/out without a flathead screwdriver (you'll already need a phillips to open the case). You'll definitely need that since you'll be charging every 20 minutes and a charge takes 4 hours. Also, its undercarriage is so low to the ground, the big, rutty tire have an actual clearance of about an inch. Seriously. It cannot climb over small thresholds, sticks, pinecones, etc. I have not tried it in water. I might do a video scathing video review if the company does not offer some type of refund. I think that if I showed you how UNfun this is, sales would be zero. (Posted on 12/30/2011)

  10. Kid Galaxy Mega X Morphibian Komodo dragon Review by Larry M. Beckwith

The battery casing is an issue. The directions are not clear or correct in how to install and the battery got stuck, could not get it out so the vehicle wouldn't work. This was a couple of days prior to Christmas. Called Amazon and they had us a new one the next day...totally amazing and it was here before Christmas day!!! Yay Amazon. Awesome customer support!!!. Since we had experienced the battery problem, we carefully inserted the battery the way we knew it had to go, not the way the directions indicated and all is well now. Grandson loves the RC. Hasn't tried it in the water yet, so hope that works ok. (Posted on 12/28/2011)

  11. Awesome Ride Review by Boom

Bought this for my son for Christmas. He loves it. The tires are rubber and rugged allowing the car to go over many surfaces without loosing any speed. The design is awesome. It is very much worth its value. The lights look very cool (LED). It turns on a dime unlike a lot of other remote vehicles in this price range. The battery pack is way too tight in the alloted space. The wireless range could be a little bigger. I give it a 9/10. (Posted on 12/25/2011)

  12. Battery Problem Solved! Review by Angela Brown "Angela Renee"

I had heard of many people complaining of battery problems regarding this toy. I once had a rechargeable battery that had a cut wire for my Ultimate WALL-E robot. I took it in to Battery-Plus near me and not only did they fix the wire, but they replaced all the batteries with high capacity ones. This more than quadrupaled the battery life and allowed him to move faster and over areas of carpet that he couldn't prior. It cost around 25 to change his battery, so I figured it was similar to buying a replacement as some suggested. When I recieved this toy, I immediatey took out the battery and turned it in to my local Battery Plus. I would highly suggest anyone interested in this toy find a similar store near them. I too had read numerous reviews and found many rc cars to have many other problems not as easily fixed as this one. I was very happy the most negative aspect of this toy was the batery, because I believe I have now avoided it. (Posted on 12/16/2011)

  13. Great toy that has outlasted countless others Review by JDB

My son received this a few years ago for Christmas. I was surprised at the quality of it and how fast it was. I have two boys and they have used the heck out of this. I think the water claims are a bit overstated. Though we have done it, I would not recomend using in a pool or lake, but it is safe to take through wet ground or even puddles. It uses a common rechargeable 9.6v battery which are easy to find replacements or extras. The bottom line is that between two boys they each get several RC cars of some kind each and every year, and very few of them last anytime at all. This one has outlasted them all, and we all (myself included) still use this one. Whenever one of the other ones has died we just save the battery pack for another spare for this toy that is still going. I would not hesitate to recommend this compared to any others out there. 14. Sturdy, fun but... Review by Zain M. Khan

I bought this for my 7 year old. Overall the this RC car is a lot of fun for outdoors driving and is virtually unbreakable.

The negative is that the rechargeable battery has to taken in and out every time it has to be charged. This would not be such a problem but you have to unscrew the top and wiggle the battery in and out of a very cramped space. For a 7 year old this is a problem and I have to be around for this. Which leads to another problem; the battery has to be charged 4 hours for 20 minutes of play time. This is very cumbersome and my son has slowly lost interest due to the short playing time and the difficulty of charging the battery.

Next time I would buy a 30 dollar RC car that can be charged directly with the power cord. (Posted on 11/6/2011)

  15. Two very major flaws....! Review by Janet

I have been searching for a durable, sturdy and easy to use remote control car for my 2 boys and thought I had found it in this one. Wrong!! Although noted by several other reviewers, I didn't realize how significant these 2 downsides to the car were....They practically make the car unusable after the 1st couple of times.

1st, the battery life is terrible! I read some users talk about 20 minutes. How about 10 min. at best!! Massively disappointing to have the battery die before the kids are even warmed up playing it!

2nd, the battery is extremely difficult to pull out and charge! If you are going to make a battery with terrible battery life, then at least make it easy to plug in and charge. Please note! You must have a screwdriver to get this battery out. You must remove the outside case, open the inside case, pull the battery out, unhook it, plug it into a wall charger, wait a couple of hours, and then reassemble the silly thing. You pretty much have to jam the battery and the accompanying wire into the battery holder. Children cannot do this easily! Thus, the parent will have to oversee the entire process.

This is unfortunately not a toy you can hand off to any kid under 13 or 14 and expect him to manage it by himself. An adult needs to deal with the battery and given it dies so fast, it just ain't much fun.

When it is running, the car is awesome. It's sturdy, it's pretty fast for its size, it turns very well. However, the developer of the battery aspect of this car should be fired. It makes the car about 80% less fun. (Posted on 10/11/2011)

  16. Less durable, poor battery life Review by Suma

I bought this car for my 4 year old son thinking that it would be great fun for him to play. It is fun only if the battery life lasts long. The battery life is very very short. There is no point in charging for hours together for few minutes of play. The battery compartment is very difficult to deal with and it is quite hard to fix the battery into the compartment. Iam sure it will get damaged after few times of operating. Overall it is not user friendly. The car is quite heavy but the plastic with which the car is made is not that durable. My son used to get disappointed when the car won't work as the battery charging was done. And finally I had to return it off. (Posted on 9/13/2011)

  17. AWESOME!!!! Review by dabeast

this product is great for kids the battery lasts for a moderate amount of time and it is wicked durable it rocks
if you get this you wont regret it. its a lil hard to put the battery in but youll get used to it.
it is so worth the money

    DEUCES!!! (Posted on 6/22/2011)

  18. ... Review by ipad dude

This is a fun car. The only problem is the short battery life. It does everything it says it does, but does not work for very long. We were careful to follow the initial charging instructions carefully, and still, the car only runs about 10 minutes. They are 10 fun minutes though. (Posted on 5/30/2011)

  19. Battery life is lacking Review by Robert and Michelle Riley

Nice car, does all that it claims, I just don't like the hassle to get to the battery, then the 12 hr wait to charge for 20 mins of fun. The batter is cocooned inside under the middle-top part (fake windows). That piece comes off, then you have to unscrew another section that is tricky to get to, then once the battery is charged, you have to finangle it back in so that the inner batter door closes and seals correctly (you hope).

It is pretty durable so far. Its been kicked, dropped, sat on, and rammed into walls multiple times and has lived and kept going (before the battery dies). (Posted on 2/28/2011)

  20. Not worth the money Review by Chris Moore

  21. great care short battery life Review by T. Hanson "zzhanson"

My 8 y/o son loves this car. He has played with it daily for the past 3 weeks. I am so glad I read the other reviews about it because they were 100% correct about the battery life. IF you purchase this car you really need to purchase a back up battery. The battery wears out very quickly. I keep one charged and replace frequently. (Posted on 11/20/2009)

  22. Wonderful Toy, Very Durable Review by MTPsychMajor

My husband and I gave this car to our seven-year-old son for his birthday and he LOVED it. It is easy to control and so far has run in the snow, on the ice, and through the backyard. The battery is not too difficult to insert, just requires a bit of patience. The battery does not last too long, so I highly reccomend a second battery. In the snow, the car tends to slow down a bit once the snow becomes packed in the tires, but a quick bang on the ground to remove it is all it takes to get going again! The car is cool to look at and is extremely age appropriate for our son! Will definitely be buying another one! (Posted on 11/17/2009)

  23. Morphibian Komodo Review by T. Kuhnt

Just reviewed the Devil Ray. Pretty much the same review except that your child will be chasing after this one to stay in range of the signal. As a result it's not as much fun as the Devil Ray. I don't understand why they made the ranges different in virtually identical toys, but buy the Devil Ray instead. (Posted on 10/3/2009)

  24. We dig the Dragon! Review by Paul Harrington "PCHJR"

My two boys love this toy - very durable and fun. Rechargeable batter is great. (Posted on 9/13/2009)

  25. Fast and furious with a few glitches Review by Mary B. Lautner "Mary Lautner"

Great little toy. Well, not so little. This is a hefty remote car. I am finding a couple of annoyances with this car: Recharging the battery requires unscrewing a plate and recharging for 4 hours. Putting the battery back in is a bit of a pain. Sometimes it does not seem to receive the signal and just stays there. So I move the controller around a bit. This car comes with a rechargeable battery (not really clear in the description or I missed it). It's a tiger on dirt tho and fun to see how it can grab those hills. I am a 65-year-old grandmother and I bought this for my 4-year-old grandson. He likes watching me run it; it's a bit more complicated than he can handle just yet. (Posted on 9/10/2009)

  26. Fun and sturdy RC vehicle Review by Patricia Peterson "Just my opinion"

I bought this toy as birthday gifts for my 6 and 7 year old boys (one for each). On the whole, it is really a fun toy, and the boys have a great time with them. The vehicles are a bit difficult to steer, and it takes some time to get used to that. The vehicles will go over almost any terrain, which is lots of fun. They go pretty fast, too. The best part about it is that the headlights and taillights light up when you turn it on, so it will be fun to play with in the dark.

The thing that I would ding these toys on is the stupid batteries. The vehicle has a rechargeable batter, but you to take the battery out of the car to charge it. You have to get out a screwdriver and then charge it for 5 1/2 hours, then put it back. I haven't had it long enough to find out how long a charge lasts. For the remote, it a 9-volt is required. One has to wonder why not use a AA for the remote. They are much cheaper and easier to install. The worst part is that the 9-volt barely fits into the slot for the battery, and the cover is difficult to close once the battery is in place. The screws for the battery covers are very tiny, and I am afraid that they will get stripped easily. Bottom line, kids cannot replace the batteries or recharge the batteries by themselves. It will always require an adult to assist. My kids are smart enough to do the steps, but the batteries barely fit, and if you don't put them in EXACTLY right, the covers won't close. As a parent, I prefer that the kids be able to maintain their own toys.

Overall, it's a pretty good toy, because I don't think that it can be broken, and with my two, that is a huge deal. They can break toys in a matter of hours, if they are not well built. I think that this toy will be one they will want to play with for years to come. (Posted on 8/26/2009)

  27. Dad and son love it Review by Sabarish Sasidharan

I wanted a responsive and powerful rc car that wasn't very costly. This fit the bill perfectly. It was bigger than i thought.

My 3 yr old son simply loves it (he sits on my lap and uses it under my supervision). We both love it. I just got it and have tried it indoors thus far. It has real rubber tires that provide good traction on hard wood floors. Installing the battery is bit of a hassle as somebody else rightly noted. But otherwise its a lot of fun to use. It has been a satisfying purchase thus far. (Posted on 8/7/2009)

  28. Replaced twice and still don't have a fully functional vehicle. Review by Gary R. Domke

I purchased this for my grandson. When the first one arrived I installed a battery in the remote control and moved the power switch from OFF to ON. The red LED immediately above the switch did not illuminate. I re-read the user manual and found no indication that the LED should remain dark. Using a DVOM I measured full battery voltage at the battery contacts. Assuming that the control would not function, I asked for and received a replacement.

When the replacement arrived I installed a battery in the remote control, moved the switch to ON and the LED remained dark. Again I read the manual and found nothing about the LED and when it should illuminate. I decided to charge the vehicle battery and test, hoping that maybe everything but the LED would work. I really wanted the LED to illuminate when the power switch was on so that my grandson would remember to turn off the power. Much to my surprise, the LED illuminated when either or both of the control sticks were moved in either direction and the vehicle appeared to function as it should.

My grandson was thrilled with the vehicle, especially because it could run in the water. While watching him drive it around the driveway within 30 feet of himself, I noticed that sometimes the wheels would stutter and then finally run at full speed. Also, sometimes when the vehicle was more than 20 but less than 30 feet away, when he stopped it and then attempted to have it move again it would not respond until he moved the remote control within 10 feet of the vehicle. I could not find a range of operation value in the manual, but this is much too short, especially when one has the vehicle in the lake!

I requested a replacement for the replacement and found it to have the same problems as the first replacement. I am now returning it for a refund. (Posted on 7/26/2009)

  29. My 5 year old loves it Review by Thomas

After nearly a week of daily use, nothing on the car is broken! The remote antenna is a bit shorter. The range on this toy is a joke (even before the end of the controller's antenna broke off.) You can't be more than 15 feet behind this car before you can't reliably control it. The ground clearance is tiny. It could not clear a pencil laying on the ground. Those things don't seem to reduce the fun my son has with it though. The 4 wheel drive has the power and grip to climb lots of surfaces. It is controlled like a tank where the left wheels can go backwards and the right can go forwards causing an in place turn. This makes the car unique to drive (but not difficult for even young kids.) We have not tired it in water yet. (Posted on 7/11/2009)

  30. Awesome R/C but only 27mhz Review by Peanut Butter and Jelly Maker

This is awesome R/C vehicle fun. Works well on ground, sand, mulch, rock, water, puddles, up curbs, etc... However, does not work well in grass. More importantly, what is not advertised by Amazon is that this vehicle is only 27mhz so my son has to stay pretty much right on top of the car while in motion. If the car gets more the 10-15 feet away from him it stops. That's a bummer! He just runs around with it and still seems to enjoy the car. The same vehicle but called the "Devil Ray" is exactly the same but with 49mhz. I ended up ordering that vehicle too. I would recommed that R/C vehicle instead of the Komodo Dragon. I don't know why they're being advertising exactly the same when the MHz is comnpletely different.

12/27/10 Update: Since my last review, both vehicles broke within one month. I'm very disappointed with these vehicles. (Posted on 7/4/2009)

  31. Great When It Works Review by John P M

We bought one of these for our kids for Christmas. It's a great toy that they had a lot of fun with. By February, it stopped working, after not a lot of use. The lights would come on but the unit wouldn't move. I contacted the company and they sent a new unit, which we received in March. Again, after not much use, the unit has become paralyzed...lights on but nobody's home. This would be fantastic if it would just keep working. (Posted on 5/29/2009)

  32. Cheap and poorly designed Review by J. Dodge

After researching many different entry level RC cars I decided on this one and it was a big mistake. This car is poorly designed and cheaply built. Low ground clearance and weak motors cause this thing to get constantly stuck. Watch the video closely and you'll notice it's going downhill on relatively smooth terrain. The amphibious part works great as long as the water is calm because the top of the car is not sealed and water will get into the electronics. Battery life is extremely short (5-10 mins. max)
The battery is also a pain to change. You don't even get full use of the battery power as once it starts getting low the remote will just stop working. I purchased this for my 5yo son who now won't play with it due to these issues. I see the price has come down(I paid $90 w/shipping).
If you are looking to buy an RC car for your child spend a little more money and buy something of better quality. (Posted on 5/11/2009)

  33. Another Cheap imported toy Review by Jason Rhule

Once again my child is left upset due to another cheap toy. The battery went dead after only 15 minutes and the screw holding the battery cover stripped out first try. This is another cheap import. Certainly not worth $70. (Posted on 5/10/2009)

  34. Good toy Review by JTP "JTP"

Good toy overall. The battery life is a little short especially in grass. Mine turns better to the left than to the right. I think it has a slightly better motor on the right side. Also the battery could be easier to get out. Otherwise my son likes it. (Posted on 4/28/2009)

  35. poor batteries Review by Book Master Pete "Book Master Pete"

Toy is fun when batteries work; battery life is very short. I have 2 of these (one for each of my boys) and the battery life is horrible on both cars. Also, fitting the battery pack into the compartment is very difficult. Similarly, putting the battery in the remote is very difficult and may result in breaking the compartment. (Posted on 3/26/2009)

  36. great gift Review by M. K. Peterson "RN mom"

Our 8 year old son received this remote control car for his birthday and he loves it. Historically he has been really hard on remote control cars, but this one takes a good beating and keeps coming back. We haven't tried deep water yet, but it works great in puddles, across rock beds, over curbs. I recommend purchasing an additional battery pack though because the battery life is pretty short. (Posted on 3/14/2009)

  37. Customer Service is great Review by D. Augustus "Mom"

FatBrain toys. I bought two of these for my boys and after waiting, ever not so patiently, for the battery to be charged, the oldest was not able to make it go ahead. I emailed this company and was given exceptional customer service. Sending out a new one, no questions asked and no charge. (Posted on 2/19/2009)

  38. Loads of fun Review by Carol A. Wallace

My five year old son loves his "amphibian". I would recommend purchasing another battery pack since the battery doesn't last too long. One minor problem, the antennae on the vehicle has broken in a few spots but we just duct taped it and it works fine. The amphibian has survived being in the pool and even turned upside down in the water. No problems. I would recommend this toy for any young child, or for the "young at heart". (Posted on 1/19/2009)

  39. Good car Review by Trefor W. Jones "Father of two boys"

This car arrived broken, the inside gears weren't connected. But I called as-seen-on-tv and they sent a replacement immediately. Very good customer care. I would buy from them again.
The new car works great, batteries last about 20 mins before needing recharged. (Posted on 1/14/2009)

  40. The Remote Controlled Car of the Year!!! Review by Linda Richardson

My 9 year old asked for a really cool RC car - and this is it. On-road or off-road, splashing thru puddles and thru the yard, it does what it claims to do. It is a bit of a pain to charge since you have to take a cover off to get to the battery, and the charge doesn't last as long as the desire to play does. But an extra battery already on charge solves everything! We are looking into other KidGalaxy items for next time! (Posted on 1/11/2009)

  41. Morphibian Review by J. Lang

What could be more fun than a remote control car. Easy for kids to use. Relatively short range for control. Only negative is that the rechargable battery is difficult to get into the water proof container. (Posted on 1/10/2009)

  42. Best RC car for the $ Review by S. Bobbert

I bought this for my 4 year old for Christmas. He has had cars in the past and can be petty tough on toys. He loves it!!! Getting the battery into the car was a little tricky (because of the water proof-ness) but it lasts longer than others. Steers great (he is experienced with controls for his age), he loves the headlihts and it ru over all the piles of cars he makes. Great Value! (Posted on 1/8/2009)

  43. Where were these when I was a kid? Review by L. Bauer

This is the sweetest R/C I have ever seen! The head lights light up and when the battery is low the head lights blink so my son knows it is time to recharge. It is so durable that we take it outside to climb the dirt hills. I also have to mention it just looks cool! (Posted on 1/6/2009)

  44. sounds good... Review by Bethany Thompson "mom4life"

My 10yo son spent his own money to buy this product, and it worked fine on land. But in the water it got caught a wheel tied up in something. It was difficult to untangle and now that side doesn't work anymore. He had only had it 5 days. Talk about dissapointing. He didn't keep track of the receipt or I would have tried to talk to the company about it. Just be careful where you use it. (Posted on 12/15/2008)

  45. Funnest remote control car I've ever purchased Review by D. REDD

I have around 10 different remote control cars (price ranges $[...])and this one is by far the best. It stops quick and my 4 year old has no problem controlling it. It can handle most terrains. Excellent I would highly recommend it. Great company to buy from. (Posted on 11/24/2008)

  46. Durable for the money Review by A. Davis

My son is five and loves this toy. It does the best in dirt and over rocks. It also goes well in the swimming pool. It floats and plows through the water. My son has a lot of remote control things and really enjoys this one. The battery is a little difficult to put in it. (Posted on 9/1/2008)

  47. a winner! Review by John B. Mcdonald

This car was a gift to my nephew for his second birthday and became an instant hit. He can't quite work the control alone but is just as excited to have someone else do it...great toy! (Posted on 8/21/2008)

  49. Fun Review by Booktress "Betsy"

My son saw this in a catalog and asked for it for Christmas. I was a little unsure, he's had several rc cars before and they didn't last long. But now that he was a little older, I figured this would make a nice gift. We did have a little difficulty getting the battery compartment open on the contol, but we got it. Getting the rechargeable battery pack into the car was also tricky. But once we got them in, it worked great. I'm not sure how long the battery holds a charge, but since I'm not stuck sticking a bunch of disposable Cs or Ds into it, I'm not too worried. We looped the RC wire (on the car) around and taped it to the car using clear packing tape so that it doesn't accidentally get ripped off. We also marked the charger with "RC car" so that it doesn't get mixed up with all the other charging equipment in the house...

Update: I wanted to update this review now that we've had the car for awhile. Now that my son has had the chance to play with it for awhile, I can better describe how it works. It works great inside on all surfaces-- carpet, tile, linoleum etc. And it works outdoors just great. It rolls over our landscaping rocks without a problem... goes through the grass (if it's not toooo long) nicely too. We have been hesitant to run it through puddles, though-- I'm a little sceptical. My son likes this car more than his friends' cars because it has the ability to turn around almost instantly because of the 4-wheel drive. It's really fast and fun. We did end up getting an extra battery and charger (because I lost the original charger-- then found it the day we bought a new one). So, we have a backup. (Posted on 12/28/2007)

  50. My son hasn't used it much Review by R. Rodrigues "Reggie"

My son hasn't really taken it outside to play with it so we don't know how well it performs on rough terrains. I did find it difficult to fit the battery and cable in the compartment. It took some pushing and I was concerned about damaging it. (Posted on 11/13/2007)
